September 2013
YOU’RE INVITED!
Places to go…People to see…Things to do….

September is a month of revitalization at BEST & COMPANY.

We’re wrapping up some exciting projects, breaking ground on others, and proud of the attention some of our favorites have received in the press—including the great feature on our Eldorado project in the September 2013 issue of U.K. House & Garden magazine.

To inspire your fall home improvement resolutions, BEST & COMPANY is proud to sponsor a trio of special fun and informative events later this month, hosted by three of New York’s most prestigious design institutions:

AIANY—Interested in the connection between indoor and outdoor space? That’s the topic of this year’s Oberfield Lecture, “Inside Nature,” with Marion Weiss, of Weiss/Manfredi —the multidisciplinary architecture and design team who created the Brooklyn Botanical Garden’s spectacular (and eco-friendly) new Visitor’s Center. Hosted by the Interiors Committee of AIA New York.

The Architectural League—Shall we dance? Or just have a ball, at the Beaux Arts Ball? This year, the Architectural League celebrates the 100th anniversary of the groundbreaking Armory Show of 1913, and invites guests to come dressed as their favorite “-ism.” We look forward to seeing you there!

IIDA—Are you part of the movement West? To West Chelsea, Manhattan, that is? Learn more about the physical culture of a neighborhood in transition (with a little help from the city’s contractors, artists, architects, designers, and the High Line) at the IIDA’s Residential Forum: Westward Ho!

We’ll be sharing more info about these important events on Best & Company’s Facebook page. Follow us to learn more. And reserve your spot today!

We’re looking forward to meeting with you this fall, and hearing how we can help you bring your home improvement dreams to life.

A SPECIAL EVENING IN CHELSEA: MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30

This coming Monday evening, September 30th, Best & Company is proud to sponsor a very special event, and we hope you will join us.

As a committee member of the International Interior Design Association's Residential Forum, our own Dana Sandberg, Director of Development at Best & Company, has been hard at work on planning "Westward Ho! The Continued Development of West Chelsea" —a panel discussion focused on the remarkable transformation of West Chelsea since the development of the High Line.

"As a Chelsea resident myself, I am astounded by and thrilled to see the transformation of my neighborhood, and worked to come up with a group of wonderful, wonderful speakers who I think, collectively, will offer a perfect snapshot of how the area is evolving," Dana says.

IIDA's all-star panel will be led by architectural historian Francis Morrone, who will be joined by three of New York's brightest real estate, architecture, planning, and design minds:

Sara Lopergolo, partner at the innovative Selldorf Architects

• Top-producing real estate broker Leonard Steinberg, of Douglas Elliman

Peter Mullan, VP of Planning and Design, at Friends of the High Line

We hope you will join us at Avenues: The World School (at 259 Tenth Avenue, between 25th and 26th Streets) for cocktails at 6, followed by the panel discussion at 6:30.

If you haven't registered yet, you can do so right here.
